MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- If you want your flowers to bloom all season long, Susie Bachman with Bachman's floral said there's one thing you need to know above all else -- prune and deadhead.

It's all about how a little work now will pay off later.

When pruning perennials, annuals and shrubs – you need a nice sharp blade, and always hold at an angle.

Pruning helps promote more flowers and boosts the aesthetics of the plant.
