Firefighters Make 2 Trips To Put Out Mpls. Fire

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Firefighters needed two trips to put out an overnight fire in south Minneapolis.

They first responded to a fire at a duplex, located on the 2700 block of Colfax Avenue South a little after 3:40 a.m. Sunday morning.

Upon arrival, crews found a futon on fire on the porch and put it out. They cleared the scene around 4:24 a.m. Crews then had to return around 5:18 a.m. when the fire flared up again, and spread to the interior and roof.

It was finally out by 7:30 a.m.

All of the people made it out of the duplex safely, and nobody was hurt.

The fire is being investigated.
