Morning Show Anchors To Grand Marshal Aquatennial Parade

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Wednesday night is the night for those who love floats and bands. The Aquatennial's Centerpoint Energy Torchlight Parade will head down Hennepin Avenue in Minneapolis at 8:30 p.m.

WCCO Morning Show anchors Jason DeRusha and Jamie Yuccas will serve as grand marshals, and they have been practicing their parade waves.

But thousands of volunteers also make sure things go off without a hitch.

Temperatures are expected to be pretty hot this year during the parade, so the City of Minneapolis has installed drinking fountains along the parade route.

DeRusha and Yuccas, along with Mike Augustyniak and Natalie Nyhus, got a behind the scenes look at the all the hard work that goes into setting up the parade. You can watch a video of all their preparations above.

Also, as an added bonus, please enjoy this slow motion video of Jason DeRusha attempting to hula-hoop.
