Minnesota Wild Releases 2013-14 Schedule

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – The Minnesota Wild along with the rest of the National Hockey League released its 2013-14 regular season schedule on Friday.

The Wild, fresh off a playoff appearance in a lockout-shortened season, will open its regular season against the L.A. Kings on Oct. 3 at Xcel Energy Center. The Wild will also be in a new division this season which will feature 29 games. That includes at least four games against the Chicago Blackhawks, Colorado Avalanche, Dallas Stars, Nashville Predators, St. Louis Blues and Winnipeg Jets.

The Wild will have three preseason home games, starting Sept. 17 against the Columbus Blue Jackets. They will also host the Jets and the Blues.

The biggest scheduling change this season is that the Wild will return to playing some teams from the Eastern Conference. Due to the NHL lockout condensing the season into a 48-game schedule, the Wild only played Western Conference teams last season.

The Wild will play one home and one road game against each Eastern Conference team this year, a total of 16 out of conference games.
