BUFFALO, Minn. (WCCO) – A student from Buffalo High School was killed in a three-vehicle crash involving a dump truck on Tuesday afternoon in Wright County.

Authorities said that 16-year-old Emma Rodelius, of Maple Lake, was driving along Dempsey Avenue Northwest at about 5:30 p.m. when she pulled out in front of a dump truck driving along County Road 35 West.

Rodelius’s Ford Taurus was struck first by the dump truck and then by a Mazda B2200, which was driving in the opposite direction on County Road 35 West.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office said that Rodelius died at the scene. She was a student at Buffalo High School.

The driver of the Mazda — 49-year-old Kenneth Hartneck of Howard Lake — was taken to Allina Hospital in Buffalo. The extent of his injuries were not immediately available.

The driver of the dump truck — 56-year-old Scott Quady — was not injured.

The State Patrol is assisting with the county sheriff’s office in the investigation.
