Searchers Recover Body Of Swimmer From Hook Lake

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 69-year-old Fairmont man appears to have died Wednesday while trying to swim across a lake in McLeod County.

Authorities say the body of Keith Allan Wilken was recovered at around 7:30 p.m. from Hook Lake, which is about three-and-a-half miles north of Hutchinson.

The McLeod County Sheriff's Office said a research for Wilken started before noon, after Wilken's family reported him missing.

Authorities said officers from multiple agencies helped in the search, which included dive teams and a helicopter.

A family member told authorities that Wilken was trying to swim across the lake.
