MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — An early Wednesday morning roll-over crash in Detroit Lakes claimed the life of a 15-year-old boy, according to the Becker County Sheriff’s Office.

At approximately 2:44 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a one vehicle roll-over south of Detroit Lakes on 280th Street, also known as the Vergas Trails Road.

There, authorities discovered five people inside the vehicle. Two were taken to the hospital by ambulance, treated and released. Two others were taken to the hospital by a private vehicle, treated for minor scrapes and bruises, and released.

The 15-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He was later identified as Jayme Rion Honrud of Erhard, Minn.

The driver has been identified as Austen Kurt Lynnes, 18, of Pelican Rapids, Minn.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor, authorities said.

The incident remains under investigation.
