MANKATO, Minn. (WCCO) -- At training camp on Wednesday, the Vikings demonstrated the NFL's new bag policy.

In an effort to ensure stadium safety, NFL teams are limiting the size and the type of bags that can be brought in.

There are three types: a clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bag that does not exceed 12 inches by six inches by 12 inches. Screeners will then easily be able to see if fans are carrying prohibited items.

The basic one-gallon plastic freezer bag is OK, and so is a small clutch without a handle or strap that can fit in the palm of a woman's hand.

It's expected the new policy will speed things up for fans going into the stadium.

However, some female fans said those making the rules are "obviously men, as they don't understand women who need out stuff."

There will be medical exceptions made, and on game day, there'll be 50 "Vikings Fan Ambassadors" reminding fans of the new policies in parking lots and at light rail stops.
