KDWB's Dave Ryan Under Fire For School-Slamming Tweets
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- KDWB-FM radio host Dave Ryan is feeling the heat of controversy after he poked fun at several Minnesota schools on Twitter. Among Ryan's tweets were:
Earlier on Tuesday, Ryan had solicited his followers to "Tweet me anything, your city, your school, etc and I'll make fun of it via Twitter."
Ryan then proceeded to respond to dozens of requests.
While the series of tweets had some people laughing, the Minnesota Department of Education took notice and was not amused.
In a statement, Commissioner Brenda Cassellius says she found it troubling that Ryan was perpetuating stereotypes.
The bio section of Ryan's Twitter page reads: "Many of my tweets are inappropriate.
"If you don't listen to our show, you won't get the humor."
Ryan's page has about 30,000 followers.
