MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — It’s Thursday, and that means it’s time to start planning some weekend fun! This Thursday, we welcome in a new month with a celebration of art in the Twin Cities.
MN Fringe Festival
The Minnesota Fringe Festival starts today. It’s a festival of live stage performance, including theater, dance and performance art, puppetry, spoken word and storytelling. This year, 176 different shows will be presented at 16 venues spread around Minneapolis.
There are three big art festivals this weekend. The first is the Uptown Art Fair. It’s the 50th annual art fair, with 350 professional artists, 50 youth artists, 18 performers and a culinary arts competition. More than 375,000 people are expected throughout the weekend.
The Loring Park Art Festival is also this weekend. It’s set at a beautiful location next to the Walker Art Center.
And finally, there’s the Powderhorn Art Fair. Set in a pastoral, 66-acre city park, it features 184 regional and national artists, as well as a Community Showcase.
