MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A Twin Cities art festival is celebrating a half-century of creativity. The 50th annual Uptown Art Fair starts Friday in Minneapolis and is one of the biggest in Minnesota.

Participants were putting up tents for their displays before the sun came up Friday morning. There are a few special things on tap this year for the 50th year of the Uptown Art Fair, including new displays and a community mural.

There’s a contest using Instagram, a community art supply drive. All different types of art will be on display, featuring 320 artists form 32 states and three countries. In terms of artists, the Uptown Art Fair features the best of the best.
