Charges: Woman Forged Checks While Husband Served In Kuwait

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Vadnais Heights woman is accused of forging checks for a total of nearly $5,000 while her estranged husband was serving in Kuwait with the Minnesota National Guard.

Brittany Nicole Satek, 22, allegedly forged 14 checks between September of 2011 and December of 2012. She is charged with one count of check forgery.

Satek's husband, a criminal complaint states, did not trust her with money, and did not make her a signatory on his checking account.

If convicted, Satek faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and/or a $20,000 fine.
