MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – It’s Thursday, and that means it’s time to start planning some weekend fun. It’s another weekend of festivals in Minnesota. Here are some events worth adding to your social calendar.

Como Park Lantern Festival
What a beautiful sight it will be when hundreds of lanterns are lit and set to float. Como Park is holding this Japanese Lantern Lighting Festival Sunday. It’s a family-friendly event with music, dance, martial arts and crafts.

Renaissance Festival
The Renaissance Festival starts Saturday in Shakopee. Hard to believe, but it’s celebrating its 43rd season and is now the largest Renaissance Festival in the United States. The Ren Fest lasts through Labor Day.

St. George Greek Festival
Get together with your fellow Greeks with weekend at the St. George Greek Festival in St. Paul. This Saturday and Sunday, eat gyros, pastries and watch some great Greek dancing. Admission is free.
