MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Officials have named the man killed in an early morning bar shooting last week on the city’s south side.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office said Friday that Mark Anthony Stephenson, 51, of Minneapolis, died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen on Aug. 8. His manner of death: homicide.

Stephenson died at the Hennepin County Medical Center, but he suffered the fatal wound at Champions Bar, on the 100 block of Lake Street West.

Witnesses told police that the bar was packed full of people and that an argument broke out which ended with gunfire. Stephenson and another were wounded. The second victim, who has not been named, suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

No arrests have been made. If you have information on the shooting, call police at (612) 692-8477.
