1 Dead, 1 Hurt In Circle Pines Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person was killed and another was hurt after one-vehicle crash in Circle Pines north of the metro early Sunday morning, according to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.

Centennial Lakes Police were called to the crash at about 2:49 a.m. Sunday on the 4500 block of 85th Avenue South in Circle Pines. When authorities arrived, a 24-year-old man driver had been ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 24-year-old man from Fridley who authorities said was a passenger in the car was hurt and taken to a hospital. The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office said speed appears to be a factor in the crash, which is under investigation by the Centennial Lakes Police and the Minnesota State Patrol with assistance from the sheriff’s office.

Authorities have not yet released the names of the victims.
