MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person was killed and another was hurt after one-vehicle crash in Circle Pines north of the metro early Sunday morning, according to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.

Centennial Lakes Police were called to the crash at about 2:49 a.m. Sunday on the 4500 block of 85th Avenue South in Circle Pines. When authorities arrived, a 24-year-old man driver had been ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 24-year-old man from Fridley who authorities said was a passenger in the car was hurt and taken to a hospital. The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office said speed appears to be a factor in the crash, which is under investigation by the Centennial Lakes Police and the Minnesota State Patrol with assistance from the sheriff’s office.
