8 Escape Safely From House Fire In Lakeville

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities say as many as eight people had to escape but did so safely after a house fire in Lakeville Monday morning.

Fire crews were called to the 11900 block of Knolls Path at about 2 a.m. on a report of a house fire. When crews arrived, the home was in a rural part of Lakeville that didn't have paved roads or fire hydrants, making it difficult to bring in water to fight the blaze.

Authorities said eight people were inside the home at the time of the fire, and everyone made it out safely. It took crews about an hour to contain the fire, which authorities said they believe started in the attic of the home.

Authorities said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
