Driver Killed, Passenger Injured In Wright Co. Motorcycle Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 52-year-old Elk River man is dead after a motorcycle crash in Silver Creek Township Saturday night, according to the Wright County Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office says the crash was reported at 6:11 p.m. on Wright County Road 123 and Duffield Avenue Northwest.

The initial investigation indicates that a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by Randal Alan Stevens, was traveling eastbound on County Road 123 when it failed to negotiate a curve in the road and went off the road into a ditch, which ejected both the driver and passenger.

Stevens was taken by ambulance to Allina Hospital in Buffalo and later transferred to North Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The medical examiner said he died of blunt force abdominal trauma.

The passenger, identified as 53-year-old Rebecca Marie LuAllen of Elk River, was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital for injuries suffered in the accident. Her current condition is unknown.

Neither victim was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, according to the Sheriff's Office.

The incident remains under investigation.
