Boy Drowns In Grand Rapids Lake

GRAND RAPIDS, Minn. (WCCO) – A 5-year-old boy drowned Saturday afternoon after trying to climb on top of a swimming raft on a Grand Rapids lake, according to police.

Authorities responded to a report of a possible drowning at Crystal Lake at 1:30 p.m. Upon arrival, first responders pulled the boy from the water.

He was taken to Grand Itasca Clinic and Hospital where he later died.

Grand Rapids Police are investigating the accident.
