Police: 2 Dead In South Mpls. Shooting

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Police discovered two dead bodies after responding to a shooting in south Minneapolis Sunday night.

Minneapolis Police spokeswoman Cyndi Barrington said police received the call at 8:28 p.m. reporting shots fired in an alley along the 2600 block of 18th Avenue South.

When police arrived, two men were discovered deceased. Two others, a female adult and a female believed to be in her late teens, were taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center with gunshot injuries.

There have been no arrests and no motive has been determined, Barrington said.

Inspector Michael Sullivan said the deceased men were inside of a vehicle. He added that police do not believe that the act was random and the public is not at risk.

The identities of the deceased and their exact causes of death will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office.

The two injured are expected to survive.
