Twins Place Deduno, Ramirez On DL

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Twins have placed right-hander Samuel Deduno and outfielder Wilkin Ramirez on the 15-day disabled list.

Deduno left his previous start against the Royals early with soreness in his right shoulder. Ramirez fractured his left shin after fouling a ball off his leg in the fifth inning of Thursday's game against the Royals.

The Twins have recalled left-hander Pedro Hernandez from Double-A New Britain and outfielder Darin Mastroianni from Triple-A Rochester to fill the open roster spots.

Hernandez is 3-1 with a 5.54 ERA in nine appearances, including seven starts, for the Twins this season.

Mastroianni missed 106 games with a stress reaction in his left ankle. He has hit .333 in 11 games in Triple-A since finishing a rehab assignment.
