MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota man who killed a father and son inside their La Crosse, Wis. photo shop last year was sentenced to life in prison on Tuesday.

Forty-year old Jeffrey Lepsch of Dakota was convicted in July for the killings of 56-year-old Paul Petras and his 19-year-old son, A.J. The two were closing up their store in La Crosse last September when they were murdered.

The life sentence includes no possibility of parole. The judge told Lepsch that calling the killings cold-blooded would be an understatement.

The judge noted Lepsch had continued to live his life as though nothing had changed, and called him a danger to society.

In addition to the life sentence, Lepsch also has been sentenced to several more years for robbery and other charges. Court documents show about $17,000 worth of stolen camera equipment were found in Lepsch's apartment.

Lepsch did not make a statement during the sentencing in La Crosse County.

His defense attorney said an appeal is likely.
