MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Minneapolis man who was robbed and assaulted in Downtown Minneapolis last month has died of his injuries.

Forty-four-year-old Adrian Hernandez was hurt almost two weeks ago at 10th Street and Hennepin Avenue.

Vereice Washington, 20, of Brooklyn Center, was charged last week with hurting Hernandez and taking his cell phone around 2:45 a.m.

Washington is currently charged with Assault in the first degree & aggravated robbery.

The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office will work to determine if more serious charges are forthcoming in the wake of the victim’s death.
