Boy On Bike, 9, Seriously Hurt After Hitting Parked Motorcycle

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 9-year-old boy on a bicycle was seriously hurt Wednesday night after crashing into a parked motorcycle east of the Twin Cities, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Authorities said the crash happened at about 5:41 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 5 at 31st Street North in Lake Elmo. When authorities arrived, a 1994 Harley Davidson motorcycle was headed westbound on Highway 5 when it pulled over to the right shoulder. The driver, a 46-year-old Lake Elmo man, was addressing a mechanical issue with the motorcycle.

The boy, from Lake Elmo, came out from his driveway on his bike and collided with the motorcycle.

The boy was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, and there has been no update on his condition.The driver of the motorcycle was not hurt.

The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the incident with assistance from the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
