MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Deer bow hunting season starts Saturday, and we found out it’s a growing trend among Minnesota hunters.
The DNR says since the year 2000, archery license sales have grown by more than 50 percent.
That’s because the age restrictions have been lowered to allow more youth to try the sport.
It is also a longer season than firearm deer hunting season. Bow hunting runs three-and-a-half months through the end of the year.
Another perk of bow hunting deer is mastering the higher level of difficulty and the thrill that comes from being that much closer to the animals.
