RIVER FALLS, Wis. (WCCO) — A school bus that transports 40 elementary students was destroyed by fire in western Wisconsin Thursday morning.

The River Falls Police Department said the bus caught on fire near the corner of Falcon and 9th Streets.

All students aboard the bus were evacuated safely, along with the driver. There were no reported injuries.

All 40 students were taken to school on a different bus.

School administrators were on hand to offer their support to students and to contact parents to let them know their children were not harmed.

Police did not say what they believe caused the fire.
