Working For The Weekend: Entertainment Best Bets

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — It’s Thursday, and that means it’s time to start planning some weekend fun. From scares to beer, we have found a few events worth adding to your social calendar.

Let the screaming begin! The Halloween Haunt at ValleySCARE starts Saturday. This year’s theme of Darkness Falls, Fear Rises leaves people nowhere to run and nowhere to hide. The nightmarish madness includes two new mazes and a scare zone called “Carnevil: Ringmaster’s Revenge.”

North Oaks Children’s Hospital Guild II
Rummage for a good cause this weekend. On Saturday and Sunday, the North Oaks Guild will transform unwanted items into extraordinary ones for the Children’s Hospital. Shop clothes, shoes, antiques and furniture at the Shoreview Ice Arena.

SurlyFest is back this Saturday. There’ll be live music, food vendors and, of course, beer, including a German style Oktoberfest brew. In addition to beer, a ticket gets you a half-liter stein.
