MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A new survey of major U.S. cities says Minneapolis is second in the nation for riding bikes to work.

According to data from the US Census Bureau’s American Community Survey, more people are getting to and from work by bike.

In fact, 4.5 percent of Minneapolis residents biked to work last year, which is up from 3.4 percent in 2011.

The survey also shows nearly 7 percent of residents walk to work, making Minneapolis the ninth highest in the country for pedestrian commuting.
