MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Two people died and another suffered serious injuries Friday morning when a semi and a car collided in Jackson County, the State Patrol says.

The crash happened minutes after 11 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 71 and 715th Street, just south of the city of Jackson.

The State Patrol identified those killed as Donna Kanuch, 85, of Jackson, and Norma Kanuch, 64, also of Jackson.

Norma had been driving a Chrysler Concorde when the two got into a crash with a semi being driven by Dwayne Meyer, 56, of Spencer, Iowa. Meyer suffered serious injuries. His condition is not yet known.

Details of the crash have not been given, but it was described as a “broadside” crash.

The crash is still under investigation.
