MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person was killed Monday night after a car rear-ended a Metro Transit bus in the north Twin Cities metro, according to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities responded to the area of Highway 65 and 89th Avenue NE in Blaine at about 5:38 p.m. Monday on a report of a three-vehicle crash. When police arrived, a vehicle had rear-ended a Metro Transit bus. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. Nobody else was hurt in the crash.

Authorities did not release the name of the victim, but said he’s an 80-year-old man from Cedar. What led up to the crash is still under investigation by Blaine Police, the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol.
