MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said a bull had to be put down Wednesday morning after getting loose in east Twin Cities metro.

The Washington County Sheriff's Office said the bull somehow got loose during a transport and the area of Manning and Hudson Avenues near Afton late Tuesday night. Authorities were out through the night searching for and trying to corral the bull.

The sheriff's office said there were a few minor accidents in the area Wednesday morning as commuters attempted to avoid the bull during the morning commute. A Washington County Sheriff's deputy eventually had to put down the bull due to a threat of public safety.
