Farm Worker, 69, Killed In Stearns County

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 69-year-old Greenwald, Minn. man died after being struck by a large front loader while working at a central Minnesota farm, according to the Stearns County Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office says they were notified of the farm accident at 8:18 a.m. Wednesday on the 26000 block of 240th Street in Zion Township.

When they arrived, deputies discovered that the victim, John Schoenberg, was struck by a large CAT front loader and seriously injured.

Deputies later learned Schoenberg had been walking in an area near a silage pot, which is not normally used by pedestrians. The driver, identified as 39-year-old Victor Guevara Rojas of Albany, was unable to see him, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Schoenberg was transported to the Paynesville hospital by Paynesville Ambulance where he later died.
