MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Opera heads to Red Wing to open a three-week residency next Monday.
Minnesota Opera teaching artist Bergen Baker will work with Red Wing High School students, teaching them about the art form of opera.
The students also will study and prepare opera choruses to perform alongside adult community members and Minnesota Opera artists in two “Opera’s Greatest Hits” concerts.
The public performances will be held Oct. 25 and 26 at Red Wing’s historic Sheldon Theatre. The concerts celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Sheldon’s renovation.
Selections will include favorite operate overtures, arias and ensembles.
Tickets are available by calling the Sheldon Theatre or for purchase online at http://www.sheldontheatre.org.
