Working For The Weekend: Entertainment Best Bets
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — It’s almost the weekend, so it’s time to start making some plans. From zombies to scares and even a 1,500- pound pumpkin, these events are all worth adding to your calendar.
Zombie Pub Crawl
The living dead will walk among us Saturday at the Zombie Pub Crawl. Thousands will hunt for brains in a beastly romp through the West Bank, Seven Corners and downtown Minneapolis. This year, the music lineup is even bigger and more random. Bands like Flock of Seagulls will play along with the Ying Yang Twins.
Frightmares at Buck Hill // Trail of Terror
Frightmares at Buck Hill opens for the season this weekend. In addition to being home to ghosts and gouls, Frightmares also features live entertainment, a full service bar and restaurant. Also, open this weekend: the Trail of Terror in Shakopee. Get spooked on 2.5 miles of scares and horror indoors and out.
Governor’s Pheasant Opener
Gov. Mark Dayton is inviting everyone to his third annual Minnesota Governor’s Pheasant Hunting Opener on Friday and Saturday in Madelia. Beyond hunting, there’s a sporting clays range, live music, banquet and a reception.
Stillwater Harvest Fest
Stillwater’s Harvest Fest celebrates the beautiful fall colors amidst the region’s Giant Pumpkin Weigh Off. Growers from the region bring pumpkins weighing 1,500 pounds and up. The locals will celebrate with pumpkin baking and decorating, a chili cook-off, microbrew beer and wine tasting, and live music.
