Worker Shocked, Injured In NE Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A man shocked while working on an electrical apparatus in Mountain Iron, Minn. is now in the hospital, according to the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office.

On Wednesday morning at around 8 a.m., the Sheriff's Office says Jon Malek was shocked while working at United State Steel's Minntac Operations.

Malek was then airlifted to Essentia Hospital in Duluth. His condition is unknown.

It is not known if Malek is an employee or contractor.

Mountain Iron is approximately 60 miles north of Duluth.
