Buses Will Replace Light Rail Service Next 2 Weekends In Parts Of Mpls.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Metro Transit officials said Thursday that buses will replace train service on the Metro Blue Line over the next two weekends.

Officials said the switch will start Thursday as crews do construction and maintenance on the light rail lines. The buses will be in service between Target Field and the Fort Snelling stations from 6:30 p.m. Friday to 3:30 a.m. Monday.

Buses will also replace train service between Terminal 2 at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport and the Mall of America stations at about 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25. Northbound lanes are scheduled to be back open by 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27, in time for the Minnesota Vikings game that night.

The Bloomington Central Station will be closed until service is fully restored to the Metro Blue Line at 3:30 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 28.
