Minnesota's Oldest Person Turns 113

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Because it's not every day that someone gets to turn 113 years old, the elder-most person in Minnesota is celebrating her birthday with a series of parties.

Anna Stoehr, of Potsdam, celebrated her big birthday on Tuesday with her children, grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

Believe it or not, her family said they were able to fit all 113 candles onto one cake.

There will also be a big party for her this coming Sunday in Elgin.

According to figures collected online, Stoehr is the 13th oldest living person in the entire world, and the eighth oldest person living in the United States.

The current record-holder for oldest living person in the world is Misao Okawa of Japan, who at 115 has two years and 224 days on Stoehr.
