8-Year-Old Killed In Scott County Rollover Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- An 8-year-old girl is dead after a rollover crash in Scott County Sunday afternoon, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

The State Patrol says the crash occurred at around 2 p.m. in Belle Plaine. The first vehicle, a Honda Civic containing a 48-year-old Timothy Adams of Mankato, was traveling northbound on Highway 169 near Blakeley Trail before the crash.

The Honda then slowed down and was rear-ended by a Ford Super Duty, which was pulling a horse trailer. The Ford then lost control and rolled into the ditch, where the trailer landed on top of it, the State Patrol said.

One of the Ford's passengers, identified as Laura Maloney, was killed.

Another passenger, 35-year-old Erin Maloney of Pine City, suffered non-life threatening injuries. The driver, whose condition hasn't been documented, is identified as 62-year-old Walter Grewe of Brooklyn Park.

There are limited details, but more information is expected from the State Patrol.
