Gas Prices Dip Under $3 In The Twin Cities

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Gas prices continue to drop in the Twin Cities.

We found gas prices under three bucks a gallon in the Twin Cities overnight -- for the first time in months.

The price of gas was $2.99 at Smart Stop on Johnson Street Northeast in Minneapolis.

About a half dozen stations across the metro were below $3 Tuesday morning and many weren't much higher.

The statewide average is $3.18 a gallon.

AAA said that's down 10 cents from this time last week.

The national average for Tuesday is $3.28 a gallon.

Last month, we hit 1,000 days since the national average was below three bucks a gallon.
