Friends Of Woman Killed In Hit-And-Run Hope Driver Comes Forward

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- St. Paul police say a woman who was struck by a hit-and-run driver has died.

Police say 53-year-old Therese Klotz of St. Paul, also known as Tracy by friends and family, was struck Friday about 6:40 p.m. She had just dropped off a passenger and gotten out of her car to talk with the woman as the woman walked toward a house.

The woman heard a thud and saw an SUV driving down the street. The woman realized that Klotz had been struck. Klotz was taken to a hospital, where she died.

Klotz's friends are hoping the person responsible comes forward.

"Hopefully that person will come forward and just be able to live with themselves then,"  said friend Jeff Lyman.

In the meantime, they have created a memorial outside her friend's home, and are passing out flyers to help locate the driver.

"She had many friends and we're all going to miss her," Lyman said.

Investigators found parts of the suspect SUV's passenger mirror in the street. They believe it may have come from a silver Lexus SUV.

Call police at 651-266-5582 with any information.
