Heitkamp, Hoeven: Army Delays Dropping NDSU ROTC

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The U.S. Army has postponed dropping the ROTC program at North Dakota State University in Fargo.

U.S. Sens. Heidi Heitkamp and John Hoeven say they urged the Secretary of the Army to reconsider.

The Reserve Officer Training Corp program serves NDSU, Concordia College and Minnesota State University Moorhead.

The senators say program will be evaluated again at the end of both the 2014 and 2015 academic years.

The Army earlier announced it was one of 13 ROTC programs slated to close in 2015.
