1 Of MN's TV Celebrity Wolves Passes Away

COLUMBUS, Minn. (WCCO) -- The four-legged TV star of Animal Planet's "Growing Up Wolf" – who called Minnesota her home – has died, according to the Wildlife Science Center.

Rosalyn was born in 1998 at the center in Columbus, Minn., rose up through the ranks, and ended up leading her pack and raising pups of her own. She's best known for her starring role as the young alpha wolf as part of Animal Planet's show "Growing Up Wolf." She was also beloved for her lack of fear in the company of humans.

Rosalyn died on Friday morning, and the center credits her behavior and interactions with other wolves as furthering the knowledge and understanding of wolves and wolf packs.

The Wildlife Science Center receives no money or aid from state or federal governments, the center said, adding that Rosalyn survived only because of the public's generosity.
