Kevin Martin Out Of Lineup For Timberwolves
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Kevin Martin has been scratched from the game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night because of an illness.
Martin came to Target Center for the game and worked out to test if he could go, but he was scratched about 20 minutes before the opening tipoff. It's a big blow for the Wolves, who are without their second-leading scorer. Martin is averaging 24.6 points this season and has scored at least 23 points in six straight games.
Shooting guard is the thinnest position on the Timberwolves roster and backup Alexey Shved has struggled mightily early this season. So coach Rick Adelman elected to start rookie Robbie Hummel against the Cavaliers.
Hummel has played sparingly this season, averaging just 1.0 point.
