Blair Walsh Earns NFC Special Teams Weekly Award

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Minnesota Vikings kicker Blair Walsh has been named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week after his performance in the team's 26-26 tie at Green Bay last Sunday.

Walsh finished a perfect 4-for-4 on field goals, including a 47-yarder in regulation and a 35-yarder in overtime. He also had five touchbacks on kickoffs, which along with the four field goals were both season-highs.

Walsh is the second Vikings player to earn the award this season. Cordarrelle Patterson earned it against the Packers in Week 8 after returning the opening kickoff for a touchdown. The award is the fourth for Walsh in his career, which ties him with former Vikings kicker Gary Anderson and punter Mitch Berger for the most in team history.

He won the award three times last season.
