Spending Smart: Saving Money On Holiday Toys

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- We know you're looking for the easiest and smartest ways to shop as we get closer to Christmas. This week, we are getting to the bottom of some of your holiday shopping questions.

Those of us who did not finish our holiday shopping during Black Friday and Cyber Monday may be in better shape when it comes to buying toys. This season's reports say half of consumers plan to buy toys as gifts this holiday season. And they still have time to score deals.

Retail experts say you may see the same toys that were on sale on Black Friday for even less about two weeks before Christmas now.

Hot toy items for the season like Boom Boom Balloon, Magic Jinn and those popular Cra-Z-Loom bracelets are already less than $20 but will likely decrease in price in the next couple of weeks.

There is concern that some of the popular and affordable items may run out. That has some parents unwilling to take the risk. But retailers want to remind customers they are confident their shelves will remain stocked.

Retailers like Toys"R"Us and Walmart feature deals of the day leading up to Christmas. So you can keep an eye on those to see specific sales online or pop by the stores to see what specials are happening as we near the holiday.
