MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said two homeowners got out safely but their house is a total loss after a fire early Tuesday morning in Stearns County.

The Avon Fire Department was called to a residence on the 33000 block of 185th Avenue in Avon Township at about 2:53 a.m. on a report of a fire. When crews arrived, the house was fully engulfed. Two homeowners and their pets got out safely and nobody was hurt in the fire, but the home and most of their personal belongings were destroyed by the blaze.

The homeowners are listed as a 25-year-old man and 22 year-old woman. Authorities said the financial loss as a result of the fire is unknown. Fire officials said the cause of the fire appears to be electrical, but it’s still under investigation.

The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office said the fire is still under investigation with assistance from the Avon and Albany Fire Departments.
