MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – As we get ready for the weekend, we want to help you get ready as well. Everyone is getting in the holiday spirit, and you can do the same with these weekend events.

Sandstone Ice Festival
Rather than fight this winter weather, Sandstone is celebrating the cold this weekend with its ice festival. Folks will be ice climbing to the top of 90-foot cliffs from day to night. The festival will also have gear swaps and clinics, guest speakers and a beer tasting.

Penumbra Theater “Black Nativity”
‘Tis the season at Penumbra Theater with the return of the songs and stories of “Black Nativity.” It’s a show full of favorite holiday music and a revisit to the nativity story. Tickets start at $15 and shows run through Dec. 22.

Stillwater Twinkle Parade
Stillwater is hosting its winter Twinkle Parade Sunday. It’s a free family event that starts at the Dock Cafe. Every child gets a twinkle light. There will be warm beverages and cookies on site, plus music. Fireworks will fly at night, and Mr. and Mrs. Claus are rumored to be making an appearance, too.
