MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said they are looking for at least one suspect after a man was shot to death late Friday night in north Minneapolis.

Police responded to the 3700 block of Girard Avenue North at about 10:57 p.m. on a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found an adult male victim lying in the street with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said through their investigation it appears the victim was walking in the area of 37th Avenue North and Girard when he and the suspect encountered each other. There was an altercation, the suspect shot the victim and fled the scene.

Police said there is nobody in custody in connection with the incident at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call Minneapolis Police. The name of the victim has not been released.
