Man Shot To Death In Minneapolis Identified

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Hennepin County Medical Examiner has identified the man who was shot to death on the street late Friday in Minneapolis.

According to officials, 35-year-old Geray Campbell, of St. Paul, died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds. His death has been ruled a homicide.

Police responded to the 3700 block of Girard Avenue North at about 10:57 p.m. last Friday on a report of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found Campbell lying in the street with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities said through their investigation it appears Campbell was walking in the area of 37th Avenue North and Girard Avenue North when he and the suspect encountered each other. There was an altercation, the suspect shot the victim and fled the scene.

Police said there is nobody in custody in connection with the incident at this time. Anyone with information is asked to call Minneapolis Police.
