Group Launches TV Campaign Against Minn.'s Nolan

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — A new television ad from a conservative group is targeting Minnesota Rep. Rick Nolan's votes around the nation's new health law.

Americans for Prosperity said Thursday the ad was part of a broader campaign against Nolan, a Democrat from northeastern Minnesota who won an expensive 2010 race.

In the ad, a man from North Branch says he is worried about his own coverage after being told by his insurer that his old plan is canceled. Nolan has voted against GOP efforts to repeal the law.

Minnesota AFP director John Cooney says the group bought $225,000 in television time over three weeks. It will pay for ads in the Twin Cities and Duluth TV markets.

A request for comment with a Nolan spokesman wasn't immediately returned.
