'U' To Offer Gender-Neutral Housing

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - The University of Minnesota will soon offer gender-neutral housing.

University officials say several dozen upper-division students will have access to the campus apartments, beginning in the fall of 2015.

Transgender students had been pushing for the change. But anyone, regardless of their sex or gender identity, will be able to live there.

The U of M will join several other Minnesota public colleges in offering the gender-neutral housing option.
